Details for Lansdowne Road, Dublin

Lansdowne Road, built in 1878 is home to the Irish national Football and Rugby teams as well as home to the Wanderers and Lansdowne Rugby clubs. The first game at the stadium was between Leinster and Munster in December 1878.

The stadium has a capacity of 49,250 although the stadium is being redeveloped to make way for a 50,000 all seater stadium. Lansdowne Road is known for its amazing atmosphere, it is hoped that the new development will keep this.

There are a number of pubs and bars around the ground and also in the centre of Dublin. There sould be little problem finding a drink - most people are friendly so there should be very little trouble.

If you are struggling to find anywhere to drink Zanzibar on Lower Ormand Street in the centre of the city has capacity for 1,600 people.

By Rail:
Lansdown Road DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) Station is the nearest Rail terminal to the stadium, it is located adjacent to the West Stand. This is around 5 minutes from Connelly Station.

By Bus:
There are regular services (Nos 5, 7, 7a & 8) from Busaras, the central Dubin bus station to Lansdowne Road.

By Air
Dublin International airport is about eight miles to the north of the city. There is a regular bus service to the city centre, both to Busaras and Marlborough Street. All services depart from the arrivals road from bus stops on your left after exiting the arrivals hall. The journey takes around 20 minutes.
