The Showgrounds has been home of Sligo Rovers F.C. since the club was formed in 1928. The Showgrounds was leased until 1968 when it was then purchased for Sligo Rovers F.C. by a trust foundation representing the people of Sligo. Under the terms of the purchase it can never be mortgaged, sold or use for any commercial purposes other the sport and leisure. The Showgrounds is a 12˝ acre site with the stadium capacity of 5,000 with 2,403 seats
Treacy Avenue Stand
This stand was opened to the public in November 2001 for a league cup fixture with St. Patrick’s Athletic. The stand presently accommodates 1,550 seats, although there is available capacity for further seating (1,800). It has been built in a cantilever style which ensures that there is no obstructed view. This stands also accommodates a press area and facilities for disabled supporters
Jinks Avenue Stand
This stand was refurbished in 1999 which included a new roof and seating. The stand currently accommodates 853 seats. The Jinks Avenue stand is to under go further refurbishment in 2006 with the development of a two-storied facility in the centre of the stand which will include a gymnasium, Youth development centre and corporate boxes.
The Shed End
The Shed End is the most famous part of the Showgrounds this is where the Rovers vocal supporters congregate for games and is often referred to as Rovers 12th man. In January 2004 the Shed failed to reach UEFA standards and was closed to supporters until July 2005 when half of it was reopened to supporters after some minor “repairs"
The Railway End
The Railway End is all terrace stand and is one of only a few areas of the Showgrounds which is not covered. It has the capacity of around 1,500

Carr's - Located opposite the railway station at the corner of Wolfe Tone Street/Strandhill road under a 10 minute walk from the Showgrounds.
O’Neill’s - Located at the corner of Church Hill/Wolfe Tone St about a five minute walk from the Showgrounds.
Mooney’s – Located across the road from the turnstiles to the Showgrounds.

From Dublin/Galway: Enter Sligo via the N4 dual carriageway. Once you come to the roundabout go straight through then take a left at the first set of traffic lights. Continue on for approximately half a mile going up Church Hill and the ground is on your right.
From Derry: Enter Sligo via the N15 and cross the Hughes Bridge. Take the forth right on the N4 dual carriageway at a set of traffic lights. Continue on for approximately half a mile going up Church Hill and the ground is on your right.
From Belfast: Enter Sligo via the N16 and take the first exit of the Abbott roundabout. Continue on until the first set of traffic lights and take a right up Ash Lane. Go straight through the next roundabout until the next set of traffic lights, take a left towards Dublin and cross Hughes Bridge. Take the forth right on the N4 dual carriageway at a set of traffic lights. Continue on for approximately half a mile going up Church Hill and the ground is on your right.
