The Rommel Fernandez Stadium is located in Panama City, which is the capital and largest city in Panama.Panama City is on the Gulf of Panama, bounded on the West by the Panama Canal Zone.The 25000 all seater stadium is the national stadium and has hosted many international football matches.The cost to build the stadium came from the revenue that Panama recieved after the construction of the Panama Canal in 1914.The name of the stadium when ftrst built was Estadio Revolucion and was constructed in the mid 1900's.Estadio Revolucion was renamed after one of Panamas most famous soccer players, Rommel Fernandez Gutierrez , was killed in a car accident.He was so beloved by his fans and such a great ambassador of Panamanian soccer , that they renamed Estadio revolucion to Estadio Rommel Fernandez.
