The Ice Palace Salavat Yulaev, named after a Bashkirian hero was the home of Ufa Ice Hockey team Ufa Salavat Yulaev between 1967 and 2007 when it was replaced by the Ufa Arena before which was the largest indoor arena in Bashkortostan and the first stadium in Russia to be built which contained artifical ice.

The arena was predominately used for Ice Hockey but has also been used for concerts, the USSR Figure Skating Champtionship, the USSR Boxing Championship (1970) gymnastics and international volleyball.
