The Bank of America Stadium (formerly Ericcson Stadium and Carolinas Stadium) is home to the Carolina Panthers American Football (Gridiron) team and boasts a capacity of over 73,000. The stadium was opened in 1996 and was designed by HOK Sports Facilities Group based in Kansas City. As well as being home to the North Carolina Panthers, the stadium also has a number of other facilities including practice pitches under the stands and a 4,000 capacity hotel.
